2013 ASM NWPA Chapter Materials Camp Photo Review

This year’s Camp was hosted at Allegheny College with field trips to Channellock, Inc. and SECO/WARWICK Corp. in Meadville, PA. We cannot begin to thank all those who participated in ways both large and small to this year’s successful camp, whose primary goal is to provide high school students exposure to the STEM fields by blending an academic and hands-on experience. Our special thanks to Allegheny professors Adele Poynor and Ryan VanHorn, the employees of Channellock and SECO/WARWICK, our high school students and all of our volunteers for making this year’s Camp curriculum come alive.

ASM NWPA Chapter Materials Camp Rocks!

This year's ASM NWPA Chapter Materials Camp, hosted at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA has high school students excited about pursuing careers in the STEM fields.  According to Paul Huber, ASM's Education Foundation member, "..each year, student presentations get better and better, and this year was the best yet."

Tom Passek, ASM Intl. Managing Director visited the Camp on Wednesday afternoon and shared these thoughts:  "The [Education] Foundation provides a little bit of money to seed these programs, but it's the chapter, Allegheny College and volunteers who make this happen.  Why do we do this?  to protect and promote the profession..."
